On January 20, 2025 among his many executive orders, President Trump established the Department of Government Efficiency (“DOGE”). Its mission centers on eliminating wasteful spending by the US government. They have already eliminated billions of dollars spending on things including news media subscriptions, excessive overhead charged by Ivy League schools, DEI programs and climate change programs in foreign countries.
